Fictional Client: Meredith Blake
We love her. We hate her. We can’t get enough of her. It’s the icon Meredith Blake! She is perhaps my favorite villain of all time, from one of my all-time-favorite movies The Parent Trap. If you know me, you know I love pop culture. I love talking about my favorite movies, shows and books. So, I thought it would be fun to do a series of fictional clients. Choosing my favorite characters from movies, shows and books and designing a room for them. Meredith Blake seemed like the perfect gal to kick things off!
I decided to design her living room with a very restrained color scheme. Just black, white and gold: her signature color palette. Meredith would never have children running around her home, messing things up (“First change I make is to send that two-faced little brat off to boarding school in Timbuktu.”), so form was more important than function. I wanted to give her classic pieces with clean lines, and a touch of glam. I knew we needed a large, floor-length mirror to check that her outfit is flawless. Her sofa has delicate and feminine details, perfect to perch on while sipping a martini with her perfect red manicure and plotting to get Nick Parker back.
Now, excuse me while I go rewatch The Parent Trap!
