Seven Fun Things.

Happy Sunday, friends! What a week! After being cooped up with covid, I was like a phoenix rising from the ashes. (LOL, yeah right.) But that is what it felt like! I just had so many things I wanted to do after being holed up in our room. Lots of house projects and errands. I’ve been getting back to renovating my office. It’s been on hold for a couple weeks between the illness and traveling. I still have to swap out the light, put up floating shelves, paint the closet doors, and a few other things. Is it just me or does the last 10% of a project always feel like it takes forever?? Here’s a little sneak peek!

Now, onto the links of the week! Have a good week, sweet friends!

  1. A walking tour of historic Georgetown

Guys, I loved this so much. If you have any interest at all in architectural history, I implore you to watch this! It’s fascinating to hear the history behind all of these buildings in Georgetown.

  2. Inexpensive nursery decorating tips

Because I know a truly UNBELIEVABLE number of people having babies !

  3. The Grit and Polish finished their primary bathroom and it’s beautiful!

I’ve been watching them renovate their primary bathroom for over a year now. It’s been so fun to watch the ups and downs of their DIY process. And the final product is beautiful! I love the dark paneling in a bathroom. It feels unexpected nowadays, but definitely historically appropriate.

  4. All of my Catholic friends/fam will get a big kick out of this video

My friend Kathleen reposted this and I spit out my water. Love a little Catholic humor.

  5. Organic Brutalism is on the design horizon

What a cool design trend! I loved the barstools. Emily made a good point when she said, “I’ve been seeing develop and come into the mainstream are still those raw, bold chunky, geometric shapes but in warm, inviting materials…mainly natural woods with texture that really draws you in.” I think brutalism on its own can be super intimidating, but mix in some softer, warm materials and you’ve got me!

  6. This kitchen is Massachusetts is MY DREAM

It’s giving me major Downton Abbey kitchen vibes! My favorite detail, however, is the mustard yellow trim! It’s unexpected and, to be honest, I didn’t even really notice it at first.

  7. A choppy New Orleans home got quite the glow-up

The owners explain that they decided to keep the layout even though it wasn’t open, to avoid removing the original crown molding. We ran into the same problem in our last home, The Purple House. The layout was very closed and not necessarily ideal for modern living, but I could NOT bring myself to remove any walls because the trim was so beautiful!
