Seven Fun Things.

Well, my friends, it’s been a tough week. And that is a huge understatement. I feel like I’ve been crying off and on for a few days. There’s so much grief. I’ve been thinking a lot about how we need to balance this rage and this desire to make change, while also protecting your peace. We have to be able to conserve our energy for the long haul. We need to feel that injustice AND keep going. Keep fighting for reform, AND appreciate the joy in the life that we still have. It feels like a difficult chord to strike right now while the grief is so fresh.

My dear friend Molly is moving to Texas and we decided to have a last hurrah at the Anthropologie/Urban Outfitters outlet, Final Cut in Martinez, Georgia. I was hoping there would be more furniture and home decor. The selection that they had wasn’t in very good shape at all. But the clothes! I bought quite the haul for very little. I bought some funkier pieces than I normally would because they were so cheap! I would recommend going if you’re ever in the area, but keep your expectations low. It was lovely to send off a wonderful friend with a little retail therapy.

Without further ado, here are a couple links I found interesting this week! Have a good week and take care of yourselves, friends!

  2. Inside Vanessa Carlton’s Magically Cozy Rhode Island Home

It has so much drama with the darker colors, but still feels playful with the fun wallpaper. I love it so much. (Architectural Digest)

3. The funniest video I saw all week

4. 53 ideas to make your small bathroom feel larger

Our primary bathroom is objectively very, very small. Dave is out of town maybe 50% of the time, so oftentimes it’s not a problem. But when we’re both home it can be inconvenient. I’m definitely going to implement some of these to help! (House Beautiful)

5. “Our Homes and Lives Don’t Need To Be Perfect”—Diana Ryu on Crafting a Calming Home

I have to say, the style of the home isn’t my favorite. BUT I love the philosophy: our homes should be a reflection of ourselves, and we aren’t perfect. Now, I am definitely a proponent of the idea that having a beautiful home that reflects you and your family will have an affect on your life. But a beautiful home is not synonymous with a perfect home. You feel me?

6. I’m making these lemon bars today

I have an absolute mountain of lemons leftover from photographing my house. And when life gives you lemons, make lemon bars because lemonade is not nearly as delicious.

7. The Sex Lives of College Girls season 2 is being filmed!
